Make the first version small
Describe one person, one problem, and one useful outcome. A clear starting point helps separate what needs to work now from what can wait.
Build the complete path
Even a small product should let someone finish its main task. Pay attention to the empty state, the first action, and the result.
- Define the problem in a sentence.
- Build the shortest useful flow.
- Put it in front of someone who has that problem.
- Use what you learn to choose the next change.
Write down the tradeoffs
Every project makes tradeoffs. Keeping a short record of those decisions makes it easier to explain the work and revisit it later.
